The Graphics Fairy Rocks!

I just wanted to mention someone who is a true giver who I just found online a couple of weeks ago.  Karen of www.graphicsfairy.blogspot.com takes her own time and posts FREE images for all to use in their crafts and projects such as blogging, scrapbooking, sewing, etc.  If you get a chance, please visit her blog on the right and see what she has to offer.

Karen, I love your work and thank you for helping me to find some of the best vintage images for my tags and note cards!  Stop by and comment anytime!

Happy Birthday To My Nephew, Eric!

There are several birthdays in the month of March in my family.  My late father-in-law, Jerry, would have had a birthday on the 18th of this month. I miss him and know he is in a better place with Ann, his wife.

Austin turned 18 on the 19th, and here is him having some cake and blowing out his candles:

Today is my nephew Eric's 28th Birthday!  He has a lovely fiance named Laura and a BEAUTIFUL DAUGHTER named Mia.  I wish him the best day ever and hope to see him and his family soon.

It seems the "good old days" of getting together at the park for food and games is slowly fading away, with everybody just trying to get by in this economy.  We should remember that things will always be happening around us, but we should always make time for family!  I am the most guilty of this I admit it.  I am going to change my perspective and focus on what is truly important in life instead of what is holding me back.  Time to prioritize!

I finally got our taxes done last night! YAY!  Now I need to tackle the FAFSA for Aaron today for college.  He has been so busy with school and work I hardly get a chance to see him or talk with him.  Remembering back to when I was 20, I guess I had that much energy too! My how things have changed! HAHA.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day and know that you can always call or write to me here and I will get it right away.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY AUSTIN!

Today Austin, who is my youngest son, turns 18!  We all stayed up until Midnight last night and attacked him with hugs and 18 spankings....

I am sure he was embarrassed but hey, we are his geeky parents!

Austin is a Pisces, and is as laid back as you can get.  He loves animals and video gaming, and has a heart as big as any I know.

Now I have 3 grown men living with me, and there is never enough food in the house to satisfy them all...LOL.  Since I don't cook as much as I used to, he and Aaron are learning their way around the kitchen.

I hope he has a great day today.  We have some surprises in store for him!

I love you Austin!

Some Fun Crafts I Have Been Creating

Good morning everyone!

I hope everyone had a great St. Patrick's Day yesterday!  I was took a nap after church since I have been getting up around 3am the past week.  We just relaxed and I fiddled around on the computer for a bit.

I got a great deal on 2 sets of printer ink on Ebay for $10 for my Brother printer, so I thought I would create some Vintage looking note cards and Easter gift tags.  It was fun to do and they add a special touch to gift giving.

Here are some of the designs I have come up with:

Happy Saturday!

Wow!  I was up at 3:00am and have not been back to sleep yet!  I even got a blog post from Nancy at that time, which means she was up working on her blog too!  I don't know how you do it, sis.

We are trying to decide what to do for Austin's 18th birthday on Tuesday.  He doesn't seem to want anything special, so we are going to take him to the Wildlife World Zoo and then out to dinner.  He loves all wildlife, and this place is suppost to have a new shark exhibit, so I am sure he will have a fun time.  I won't be able to make it because there is too much walking involved, so they will just swing by and pick me up for dinner afterwards.

I wanted to show you a picture of my mom and sister in law, Christie, on my 40th birthday, when everyone came and really threw me a great party!  I think Betty and Christie look great in this picture.

I will be adding more family photos slowly but surely.

I thought you all might like to know that I have completed my lamp and lampshade and am just taking the right pictures of it today.  It is tall so it will be hard to capture all of its features, so I will have to take  several pictures of each feature.  Here is my first attempt to take a photo of it:

Victorian lampshade with vintage lamp.
It is time for another cup of coffe and maybe a bowl of cereal.  The boys are still asleep and Steve is watching the news and relaxing.  Jasmine is asleep at my feet on the bed as usual.

I hope everyone has a nice weekend!

Love,
Janny

More PIctures of the Victorian Lampshade and Cherub Lamp

It is going to be a very nice day today here in Phoenix, with the temperature almost hitting 90 degrees!  I have a feeling it is going to be another hot summer here in Arizona....

I wanted to update you on the Victorian Lampshade and Vintage Lamp.  It has minor work to be done still.
Here are some pictures that I took yesterday: The first picture is what the shade looked when I salvaged it.

The silk Cherub image, which is on either side of the lampshade, lights up when the lamp in on in the evening.

Today I think I will put the green felt on the bottom to avoid scuffing furniture and adding the old-time feel.

Let me know what you think of the lamp by leaving a comment.  I don't know which of my friends and family are seeing this, with the exception of Dad, Nancy, Pat, and Liz :)

Well, it's time for another cup of coffee for me!  I hope you all have a great day and I will write again soon.

Jamming At Home With Aaron and Steve!

Here is a pretty short video of Steve, Aaron and Aaron's girlfriend, Casey, jamming to some music on the drums, lead guitar, and bass guitar! Not too bad for short session...LOL!

Easter Gift Tag

Here is an Easter Gift tag that I made, which is two sided, and used vintage pictures courtesy of the link on the right, Karen at www.graphicsfairy.blogsot.com.

Lunch With The Sisters, Jayden & Evan?

Nancy (Arizona Mama) and Shannon are two of the best Sisters-In-Law anyone could ask for!  They are both full of compassion, humility, and are both great mothers.

Unfortunately, there have been many things going on in my life the past year that have not allowed me to be the independent person that I used to be.  This has prevented me from many things, especially making time for my extended family and meeting my newest nephew, Evan. I am bound and determined to change this!

Nancy, I would like to take you, your boys, and Shannon out to lunch as soon as we our schedules can allow it.  It is a shame that I have not seen you for ages, and I want us to catch up on what is happening in each others' lives.

I will call you and Shannon so we can all agree to a time SOON....
I love you both and can't wait to see you!  Tell John and Paul I love them and will see them soon as well.

Meet My Family!

Aaron, Steve, and Austin
Good morning everyone! I wanted to take some time to show off my family on my new blog. As most of you know, we are now living in the Northeast Phoenix Area near the 101 Pima Freeway and Cave Creek Rd. Steve, my hubby, has been such a great help to me this past year due to my back injury. He is there for me anytime I need him, and he is the love of my life! Aaron is my oldest son, and he is going to be turning the big "21" in July. He is swamped with college at ASU Online, studying Political Science, working at Guitar Center, and his girlfriend, Casey.

On the rare occasion that I do see him, we have fun talking and joking, eating ice cream shakes at midnight, or just watching a good movie.

Austin, who is my youngest son, is also hitting a milestone, too. He will be turning 18 on March 19th! Wow, time really does fly, and it makes me feel really old! He is such a help around the house and loves to hang out with Dad and watch Adventure movies.

Last but not least is Jasmine, our newest addition. She is a Blue Sepia Ragdoll kitten who seems to think she runs the household! She follows us around like a puppy and likes to check out what everyone is either doing or eating, making sure we are not leaving her out on the fun...lol. Here are some photos of the whole gang: Steve, Aaron, and Austin:

I hope you all have a great day! Please leave a comment or start following me if you are a blogger!  I would love to keep in touch with you all!
